Rock and Walk II

Andrew Alden will lead us on another walk exploring Oakland geology. This will be a shorter but hilly walk in East Oakland, crossing the Hayward Fault and with views of the bay, the hills, and various fault-related features. We’ll meet at the corner of Greenly and Keller.
Hi, I just posted this at my site:
“This will not be a stairway walk. The off-street passages are steep, weedy dirt paths that have not been maintained. The land along the fault is steep, making for nice residential view lots. I haven’t finished the route yet but it will take no more than 90 minutes, 10 to 11:30—I have a lunch destination I’m anxious to make. So I would like to set a good geologist’s pace.”
Ok, the route is at

and it’s almost 4 miles. Steep streets and some striking earthquake fault features.
Thanks Andrew! We’ll be putting the Paths in Oakland Urban Paths this weekend.
Another great walk! Thanks guys.
For those interested in the Oak Knoll hospital implosion from April of 2011, check out the video at http://youtu.be/A4yRr6dmS6s . After the warning siren that begins the video, there’s a 1:00 wait before the countdown and the actual implosion.
I enjoyed myself a lot, and I hope you all did too. Any questions?
